Nexus UCLA strives to cultivate and combine the UCLA and Nexus values and mission by promoting diversity, excellence and service. Working closely with the established Nexus USC chapter, Nexus UCLA is set to launch and begin its weekly meetings during the 2024-2025 academic year. Weekly Nexus meetings allow members to share their passions with others and connect with other members. Each week, a member will have the opportunity to present to the group about a topic of their choice and open up the floor to discussion and exploration with their peers. Nexus offers a space where members are encouraged to embrace their own niche as well as lean into that of others. We plan to recruit passionate, driven and diverse members in order to perpetuate the unique Nexus culture. This chapter aims to connect UCLA students from all kinds of backgrounds and academic disciplines as well as with those within the Nexus global community. True to the purpose of Nexus, this chapter aims to prevent the development of tunnel vision within one’s major and career aspirations. We offer members a unique opportunity to connect with and hear from voices different from their own which allows a profound opportunity to learn and grow.
